Five years ago I bought a GoPro, because it seemed like everyone had a GoPro. I used it once only to sell it three years later.
Just like GoPros, I wanted to blog. A small slice of the internet to call my home. A place to share my thoughts and show off my work. But it wasn't as romatic as I thought.
It requires effort
Well duh. Writing takes time, and it takes more time to do the thing you're going to write about. If you lead a boring life, like me, then this even harder. Be patient.
Cause and effect
Every GoPro video on YouTube is of someone doing some adrenaline pumping activity. Every blog has interesting and thoughtful content. But this is no chicken and egg problem. I've spent more time tweaking the theme than actually writing posts.
I'm rarely write, but yet when I first started blogging, I thought I'd be churning out thousand word posts monthly. Only to be disappointed when I spend three hours writing "The".
Practice makes perfection
Cliché, but true.
Not everyone needs a GoPro, but since I have one, I might as well make use of it.
