Learning to skate

Ever since I saw Casey Neistat skate around New York city on an electric skateboard, I’ve wanted to do the same. So last month I picked up a Sector9 skateboard and decided to learn to skate.
I can ride a bike, but have never skated before. It's a little nerve-racking at the beginning trying to balance on one leg while kicking off with the other. But it only took an hour to get used to it. The first couple times I practiced in an empty underground car park, where the concrete was smooth and flat. Then I started skating on the pavement. Things went well until I got a bit cocky and thought I could skate down a slope. I ended up face planting into the ground – thankfully I managed to divert myself onto the grass instead of the pavement, but I did get a mouthful of grass.
